how old are you;

how much you weigh;

are you planning to use the scooter primarily indoor or outdoors;

how are you going to transport your scooter;

what are your health concerns and limitations.  

Along the way, we make recommendations and explain the basic features and benefits and choices. We listen to each other's questions and answers.

We want you to know almost all Scooters come apart without any tools in 4 or 5 parts with the heaviest part between 22 and 40 pounds, which usually will fit in the trunk of your car.

We ask you questions if you plan to be on smooth surfaces, unpaved roads or even park type areas. We will recommend models that are best for all your needs.

Leg room is very important

We have to go over the specifications of the unit, the specific features and benefits: Key Switch, Horn, Braking System, Variable Speed Control, Battery Indicator, Battery Charger, Batteries, Motor, Controls, Take-Apart Features.  As we go over these Features, we ask you Specifics on what may be your personal needs:   Battery Type and Specifications, Body Color Options, Disassembly Features, Drive Train and Warranty, Length, Maximum Speed and Range, Seat Post Height Adjustment, Standard seat depth, height (some people like a Captain's, Head Rest, or Higher Back) and Seat Width (especially necessary for Heavy People), Tire size (especially important for people who are going to use it a little on unpaved roads), Total Weight, Turning Radius and Width (especially important for "tight" doorways or specific doors).

 We want to know if you are planning to use the Scooter to Dine, Travel around the House, Use the Bathroom, . . . we need to know sometimes the width of your doorways and doors.  We need to know if there is a Threshold between the outdoors and your front door (Ramps).

We may want to know if you are currently using a cane or walker or manual wheelchair to help yourself around the house.  We have to take a summary assessment on your abilities to safely transfer to and from a Scooter, operate the tiller steering system, and maintain postural stability and position while operating the Scooter in the home; Your mental capabilities (e.g., cognition, judgment) and physical capabilities (e.g., vision) are sufficient to safely operate a scooter in your home. Otherwise, we may have to recommend a Power Wheelchair.

We even want to know if the customer has expressed some unwillingness to use the product.  Many times the children want to buy their Parent's Mobility, but there is a big questions, whether the unit will be used or not by the Parents.  We fully understand.
