On a European Vacation in 1987, Henry Kraus, the
founder of Latexpedic Mattresses,
stayed at a small hotel in Switzerland.
There he awackened to something he was not use to: He woke up without back pain. This came as quite a surprise to him, as he suffered from chronic back pain (and actually had back-surgery two decades earlier). Mr. Kraus decided he had to stay another night just to see if it was "this mattress" that helped him wake up without back pain. Once again he woke up without back pain.

Mr. Kraus, already in the adjustable bed business (Electropedic), first ordered a Latex Mattress for himself and, eventually, for his adjustable bed customers. Latexpedic Mattresses was soon borne.
